As PAAIA’s Legislative Assistant, Sanam Masroor monitors legislative and governmental affairs pertaining to Iranian American interests. She also manages leadership-building programs, such as the Congressional Hill Internship Program (CHIP) through liaising with the NexGen board.
Masroor is a student at American University in the Global Scholars Program studying International Relations and Music, focusing on Middle Eastern and North African Affairs, Persian language, and Global Security. She spent the summer of 2015 studying and completing a human rights legislation focused research paper at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Masroor previously was an intern in the office of Congresswoman Bonamici (D-OR) in the US House of Representatives. She has also spent four years volunteering with a worldwide program called the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program, an educational process that seeks to raise capacity within a population and empower them to serve their communities.
